💰 The Weekender: NFL & College Football Matchups 🏈

👀

Dread it, run from it... a Jalen Hurts QB sneak arrives all the same.

The eagles got off to a bumpy start, but eventually righted their offense and ended up dominating Minnesota, easily covering their -6.5 spread.

I’ll be honest, I thought Minnesota would give them a tougher match up given Philadelphia’s banged up secondary.

On another completely unrelated note, can you imagine trying to cover this guy?

Apparently, he’s the only guy in the league that can’t be covered 1 on 1 (according to some NFL Insiders).

Let’s dive in…

NFL Sunday Week 2 Picks

Here are the five best over/under bets for NFL Week 2:

  • Seahawks @ Lions: Over/Under: 47.5, Prediction: Over

This Seahawks D allowed 30+ to a Rams team that is not likely to make the playoffs. The Lions have serious playmakers like Amon-Ra St. Brown. And for that matter, so do the Seahawks with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

  • Chargers @ Titans: Over/Under: 45.5, Prediction: Under

Yes, the Chargers allowed a track meet against the Dolphins. But the Titans are not the Dolphins. The Titans always have a stout defense as well. I predict a low scoring affair.

  • Raiders @ Bills: Over/Under: 46.5, Prediction: Over

Josh Allen is mad. After his Week 1 performance, I would not be surprised if the Bills put up 35+ in order to make a statement.

  • Giants @ Cardinals: Over/Under: 39.5, Prediction: Over

The Giants are not as bad as they showed in Week 1. And the Cardinals do not have a great team. I can see the Giants scoring 27 and the Cardinals 17, scoring the over.

  • Saints @ Panthers: Over/Under: 39.5, Prediction: Under

The Saints have a solid defense and neither team has an explosive offense.

Against the spread bets:

  • Jacksonville Jaguars (+3) vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The best price to get the Jaguars right now is at +3 (-114) on BetRivers Sportsbook.

Jacksonville looked impressive in their opener, and Kelce is still not guaranteed to play. If he does play, the line should move, and you should still take the Jags to cover.

  • Cincinnati Bengals (-3.5) vs. Baltimore Ravens

Wager on Cincinnati to cover the -3.5 spread (-102) on FanDuel Sportsbook.

The Bengals will bounce back with a vengeance. Baltimore is missing their #1 back. And there is no way Burrow plays that bad back to back. Higgins and Chase should have big games.

  • Atlanta Falcons (+1.5) vs. Green Bay Packers

The best price to get Atlanta +1.5 is at BetRivers Sportsbook at -109.

This is purely based off injury. Christian Watson and Aaron Jones appear to have hamstring injuries. If they don’t play, I like Atlanta and Bijan here.

  • NY Giants (-4) vs. Arizona Cardinals

Bet on the Giants currently at -4 on a variety of sportsbooks as of Monday evening.

The Cardinals just don’t have it this year. And the Giants are not that bad. I think they will bounce back under leadership from their coach.

  • New England Patriots (+2.5) vs. Miami Dolphins

The best price to get the Patriots at +2.5 (-109) is on BetRivers Sportsbook.

This is an interesting one based on home field:

New England has won 12 of the past 14 matchups at Gillette Stadium, including a 23-21 win on New Year's Day last season.

NFL Fantasy Corner: Week 2

Based on the matchups and the potential game scripts, here are your best bets for Week 2 in fantasy.

Flex starter:

  • Romeo Doubs WR - GREEN BAY • #87

  • James Cook RB - BUFFALO • #4

  • Mike Williams WR - L.A. CHARGERS • #81

Start him:

  • Luke Musgrave TE - GREEN BAY • #88

  • Anthony Richardson QB - INDIANAPOLIS • #5

  • Michael Pittman WR - INDIANAPOLIS • #11

  • Jared Goff QB - DETROIT • #16

  • Sam LaPorta TE - DETROIT • #87

These guys have favorable game scripts to put up big points.

Sit him:

  • Drake London WR - ATLANTA • #5

  • Zay Flowers WR - BALTIMORE • #4

  • Justin Fields QB - CHICAGO • #1

  • Isiah Pacheco RB - KANSAS CITY • #10

Zay and London will be breakouts this year, but it won’t be in this game. Baltimore has O-Line Issues and there are better receivers to stream this week.

Sleeper:

  • Roschon Johnson RB - CHICAGO • #30

  • Christian Kirk WR - JACKSONVILLE • #13

Kirk was Lawrence’s favorite target last year. They’ll get back on track this game against the Chiefs.
